Introducing my blog

Few months ago, I was simply someone who was just sipping and enjoying some good wine.

Nevertheless, on my trip to discover some of the top blogs out there, I soon found out that wine blogging are just too much and sometimes not interesting on the Internet with numerous posts that have not been updated for years. Others are blogs owned by large companies; we can even call it, wine blogging as a marketing tool.

However, my blog is a great place for people who are new to wine tasting, who are wine lovers, even curious about it, or for a younger crowd merely. The world of wine is boundless and mystical as we can see and can make you guys’ travel all over the world. Exploring it is first of all a wonderful experience, but the time you take to search your next favorite wine can be quite difficult, time consuming and believe me, very expensive. But through my blog, there will be posts about where to find your wine especially for the Mauritian people.

Everyone is trying to review and describing their bottle they drink last night. BUT!!! I am not here to criticize wine expert as I myself is not one except a great wine lover/amateur. However, facing facts, people don’t read wine reviews for entertainment. Of course these are important source of information. Try to read a whole blog about wine reviews, I personally cannot.

What’s interesting about my blog posts is that through various pictures, I want to share the experience of how to taste wine without being a connoisseur. I want my audience to get through the simplest steps to tasting wine. Like for example, tilt the glass, stick your noise in, swirl and smell again and time to taste. Yet, building all these steps in a joyful way, without forgetting that this is their personal trip.

I want my audience not only to see my blog as an embellishment of linguistic of wine assessment even if it could be by time, but a blog where they are able to create themselves their intimate space, whether it is virtual or real, and finally experiencing that ritual thing.

Unfortunately here in Mauritius people are very limited when talking about wine. By this way in my blog I will focus on the idea that to some might think that to read a wine blog, one should be rich to be able to enjoy it, like eating luxury food. Thus in my blog I will be able to wash away this idea of discrimination of wine drinking.

My personal interest in wine blogging

You, guys, might wonder why I am having that love affair with wine. Well it all started when I was 15 years old, my mum always served wine with my aunty was here. Thus my cousins and I, so as to do the serve, we were drinking grape juice (Ceres) in those large wine glasses. After some years, I tasted the so-called wine, which I found very good.

After few years, I met with new friends; where wine itself was binding people together. When we share that glass of a well made and aged wine, this build a     bridge in friendship

and helps us discovering our soul, or much better, it open up the hearts to those around us. For my part, it is a potion to share, appreciate and experience. But like many good things, we have to be responsible and enjoy it with moderation.

I found out that people and wine make a perfect blend. For example, this perfect blend at a diner leads to good conversation, you even become friends with people you just met, the meal becomes more flavorful, the conversation get more animated and the evening become more memorable. This is what I want to share with you guys.

This flawless blend, which boosts exchange between great people, often burst as a tribute to cheese, bread and other great foods. All these complement up to the experiences. One way where I find happiness is buying a French wine and tasting it with someone else, where you are living in the moment and at the same time, sharing good memories.

However, by this time, I have never take any course on wine connoisseur, therefore I cannot say that I am a wine expert or can review wine as a connoisseur. But by now I am acting as an amateur where I am sharing every single experience I am having with wine.

Being a Mauritian, I believe that the Mauritian people have the right to know more about wine no need to look for a sommelier for them to know which is which.
